Should gay couples be able to marry?

I believe Same-sex marriage should be allowed. To many people being gay they feel that their is a discrimination against them. I think if their freedom in speech and religion it should be just as much to who they marry. I don't think by couples marrying with the same-sex can harm anyone. Other believe that its not right because of religious terms yet i think if it makes them happy its okay with me. Its about the love they have between one another and not being the same-sex. I think its not fair because its like saying that someone who has a Hispanic background cant marry someone who is African American, this is a very controversial topic because many people believe different, yet its becoming more common because in certain states its allowed to marry. I think it should just be allowed in every state.  

Do certain children's toys create social or emotional or other problems?

Yes I believe many toys give kids a certain way of thinking things should be done a certain way or even look that way. For example Barbie is a way to make little girls think that, that’s is the way their hair or body is suppose to look. Many of these girls can believe its right and can cause self-esteem problems. They begin to feel insecure if their bodies don’t look like Barbies who’s just a plastic doll. Many of them as they get older can have health problems such as having an eating disorder or having plastic surgery. As for Bratz another type of dolls they are dressed in a very inappropriate way for little girls to believe its right to dress that way at that age. The same goes for boys toys that can be too violent and have an aggressive attitude with younger siblings or even other children.

Should the government provide child day care centers for working parents?

No the government should not provide child day care, because if someone cant afford to have a child then they shouldn’t be having children if they cant afford day care. The government is not here to pay your way through life people should have more personal responsibility than rely on the governments help as much. The government has no money of it's own, it is our money. So if the government provides a service, we are all paying for that service, and it costs five times as much to take the money away from us, filter it through the tangled up system, and then use it to pay for these ridiculous things. We are each responsible for our own lives and our own needs and should pay for them ourselves so no the government should not pay for daycare even if they are working parents.

Should mandatory (or voluntary) prayer be permitted in public schools?

I believe that it should not be mandatory or that it should be voluntary. Not many people have the same religion and since the USA has freedom of religion and has many cultures not everyone going to one same school will believe in the same religion.  If a parent wants their child to pray or have any type of religious interactions it should be at any catholic or Christian schools. Not many people believe in the same religion so it would be a big controversial thing going on if they pray and the religion is Christian what would people who are Jewish feel. The right thing to do is to make after school clubs to be permitted for public schools, but it should not be mandatory.

Should tobacco companies be held responsible for smoking-related illnesses and deaths?

Society has been well informed about the illness that tobacco can cause so I believe tobacco companies should no be held responsible. The person who decides to smoke or intake the tobacco has their own responsibilities since they know the risk and know the facts about smoking. Tobacco companies do not force people to take in the tobacco. And even though people become addicted they know the hazards it can do to their bodies in the after affect in years.  The companies don’t have any fault they are just selling their products.  Anything is bad if your over do it and can harm your body just like tobacco has this effect people should not complain that they became ill when they clearly knew the consequences.  

Is rehabilitation of felony offenders possible? Desirable?

I believe that to many of the offenders its is possible and can go through rehabilitation if they are a compassionate enough and want to change their lives for the better. Many of these offenders who serve their time and get out on parole commit recidivism. In the other hand there is a small group where they believe that they have to change their life for the better and for their families if an offender wants to he can rehabilitate. Yes it is their desire to do so. Many cant change thir life style since that’s what they have been use to many rehabilitation programs have alcohol, drug or anger management programs for rehabilitations and many comply and are able to rehabilitate but once they have done their time and are released many go back to their old days. Even though it is possible it all depends on the offender if they want to or not.

Are we too dependent on computers?

Yes we are very dependent on computers. I say this because many people tend to do rely on them for everything, from paying bills, applying for jobs, looking for directions of a certain business and even staying connected with friends and family through social networks. Without computers this world would be full of chaos. We’ve become dependent on computers to write essays and do homework using Microsoft Word for spell check and grammar mistakes. Online classes require to use a computer therefore makes us very dependent on computers. Its goes to people becoming so dependent that we cant remember numbers and depend on out cell phones. As you can see we depend on computers too much and are losing our ability to memorize, type, spell, or even write a grammatical correct sentence. Back in the day it had to hand written and delivered through a carrier a couple days later. Which lead to e-mails and instant messaging, the key word being instant unlike back in the day it would take days. Businesses run through the use of computers such as using Excel to manage simple functions like adding numbers and using it as a budgeting program. Banking is now done on computers along with credit apps and even car and movie rentals. If we lost the use of computers at this point in time, our world would come to a screeching halt. Either way at any point in someone’s day you’re bound to use a computer. Event though many people think that computers are just a “tool” and we don’t depend on computer. It is still called being dependent on a computer (or tool) no matter what, because it is used in our every day life we will eventually be in a place where they have taken too much control, because if our computers crash or fail, for some reason, many of us would be lost and not know what to do.
